About this event
Topic: Build confidence with the skew through a series of low stakes practice exercises. Learn how to achieve glass smooth finishes while avoiding the catches that frustrate even experienced turners. Be prepared to have fun, make shavings and pick up a few pointers along the way.
Skill Level: Novice and Beyond
All students should have at least taken the OVWG basics classes and feel comfortable using spindle and bowl gouges.
Materials: Students should bring their own skews, and skews will also be available for those who need them.
Pre-requisite: Introduction to Woodturning and the OVWG LC. Also read and be familiar with the AAW Lathe Safety Guidelines and the Glossary of Woodturning Terms, available on the OVWG website in the document library or by clicking the following links: AAW Lathe Safety Guidelines and Woodturning Glossary
