Meetings and Membership

We welcome as members anyone with an interest in learning about and doing woodturning; collecting turned items from talented local, national and international woodturners; or even just enjoying watching talented demonstrators show their skills.

Memberships run on the calendar year, but you can join any time.  You can join the club by clicking Member Signup / Information.  Existing members can renew their annual membership starting 60 days prior to the January 1 expiration date. This is done from their Profile page or by clicking the link that appears 60 days prior to expiration date. We take payments online, or you can join when you attend one of our meetings. Annual dues are $45 the first year and $40 annually thereafter. Full time students under age 25 memberships are $5. We highly recommend that you also join the American Association of Woodturners. Go to www.woodturner.org to check out their offerings and membership options.

There are many benefits to becoming a member of the OVWG. You have access to a fully equipped Learning Center. You will be eligible to apply for one of our annual woodturning scholarships which can be used to take lessons in woodturning at one of a number of craft schools located around the country. Members have a chance to participate in a variety of local events and venues. Many of our members sell their work at these events. Members also have on-going access to a number of skilled mentors who offer help and advice to those getting started in woodturning or trying to develop or improve a particular skill. We encourage you to join today.

Our meetings are generally held the third Saturday of the month (September through June) from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Registration and set up starts at 8:00am. Meeting cost (includes lunch) is $15 and full time students under age 25 are free.

Our normal third Saturday meeting place is at the Kennedy Heights Cultural Campus, 6620 Montgomery Road, Kennedy Heights, OH 45213. Click here for a map to the Learning Center.

As our meetings are run by volunteers, we welcome folks to come early and help set up and stay late to help clean up! All help is greatly appreciated!

Some events are held at various other locations. Please check each event on the Event Calendar to be sure to go to the right location.
