For all of you that may have known him, David Glynn passed on in 2019.

Anyone that would like to write a memory or tribute to David please forward it to webmaster@ovwg.org I will add your memory to this page.

Lowell Converse writes:

Jim Burrowes and David Glynn both passed within the past year. They were both universally well liked by club members. Both were active members whose good nature and positive attitude were well enjoyed by the membership.

Jim was a frequent demonstrator at club functions and was a winner in many of the club contests. He was also a willing  and active mentor to many members. David wanted to try everything and did, and was usually successful.

They are missed.

Terry Elfers writes:

Dave Glynn was a member of OVWG for only a short time before his death, however, he credited the club with :

Meeting some really good friends

Honing his turning skills

Inspiring him with new projects

Costing him lots of money in new tools

I met Dave thru the OVWG and we became good friends. He would get inspired at a meeting and we’d get together to make one. He called me about a week before Christmas one year, saying that he saw a video on how to make inside out ornaments, and we should make a bunch of them in about 20 minutes each. After working together for 8 hours, we had finished the first one.

Dave was an integral member of Doc Bryant’s sawyer group and loved riding his motorcycle. His passing has left a big hole in the hearts of a whole lot of people.

After completing a project, we would step back and do a critique, looking at the shape, sanding job, finish, etc. he would always conclude that “ a blind man would be glad to see it. “
