The Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild (OVWG) welcomes anyone interested in woodturning — from beginners exploring the craft to experienced turners, collectors, and enthusiasts.

Curious about how to make your first bowl, pen, or ornament? Or maybe you just enjoy watching skilled turners work their magic.  You’ll fit right in at the Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild (OVWG)!

Our members range from beginners to seasoned professionals — all sharing one goal: learning, creating, and enjoying the craft of woodturning together.

Why You’ll Love Being a Member

• Learn by Doing: Take part in our hands-on classes and free Skill-Building Sessions held several times each month at our fully equipped Learning Center.  
       •  Skill Building sessions are provided to members at no charge and assist in learning techniques, tool use & control, and lathe operations.  
       •  Classes are provided to members and may have a small fee added for materials. 
       •  View the Event Calendar  for available classes and Skill Building sessions. 

• Grow with Mentors: Get one-on-one guidance from experienced turners who are always happy to share tips and techniques.
• Join the Fun: Attend monthly meetings, local shows, and guild events — many members even sell their work!
• Get Rewarded: Apply for one of our annual scholarships to take classes at nationally recognized craft schools.
• Community Involvement: Connect with others who share your interest in turning and craftsmanship.

Membership Made Simple

• Cost: $45 for your first year, $40 to renew.  You can join online or sign up at a monthly meeting.
• Students (under 25, full-time): Only $5 per year!
• Join Anytime: Memberships run by the calendar year — sign up online whenever you’re ready.

        Member Signup   

• Existing members can renew from their profile page starting 60 days before January 1.

We also encourage you to join the American Association of Woodturners at woodturner.org.

Monthly Meetings

• When: Third Saturday of each month (September – June), 9 AM – 3 PM
  • Registration opens at 8 AM
  • $15 (includes lunch) — students attend free
• Where: Kennedy Heights Cultural Campus
