Member Appreciation Luncheon
Registration Deadline - November 25, 2025
Greetings to All:
I am writing to remind you that our annual Member Appreciation Luncheon scheduled for December 6, 2025, is fast approaching. In fact it is less than three weeks away. If you have not registered (remember it is free for you and a guest) it is time that you do so within the next few days. If you are uncertain about attending I hope you will reconsider. Last year we had 96 people attend and my impression is that a good time was had by all. Just like last year we are including a gift exchange and a contest. If you are not sure you want to come please reconsider the joy that your presence might bring to others.
The gift exchange provides an opportunity for you to walk away with a very nice turned piece made by a fellow woodturner. However, this will happen only if you bring one of your own nice pieces to exchange. Your gift should be placed in a gift bag or wrapped so that it will be a surprise to the person who chooses it.
As announced earlier, the contest piece is to be a wig stand that is then donated to patients who are undergoing chemotherapy. Dean Devin has made arrangements with local hospitals and health
professionals. Information about the wig stand contest can be found on the home page of the OVWG website. More information with material suggestions can be found at OVWG.org/wigstands. Dean had bundles of wood for this purpose at the meeting on Saturday and may still have some. If interested you may contact him at ddevin@cinci.rr.com. This is certainly a good cause so I hope you will participate.
I look forward to seeing you on December 6. The doors will not open until about 10:00 a.m. so that we have time to get everything arranged for you. We should be finished with all activities by 1:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter.
