The idea is to bring your lunch and encourage more socialization.

Did You Know That the new time slot will be from 10:00 AM till 2:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Fridays?
Did You Know That we hope that the later start time and longer hours will appeal to the late risers and those that would like more time to work on their projects?
Did You Know That we hope participants will bring a lunch and maybe a treat to share with other participants?
Did You Know That work will stop between Noon and 12:30 to give some quiet time for eating and socialization.
Did You Know That you can skip lunch, pop out for lunch or order in but the hope is that this format will encourage more socialization and getting to know each other better?
Did You Know That we hope you will bring some Show-&-Tell pieces to share and possibly do some informal critiquing?
Did You Know That we hope to have every lathe in use and lots of social interaction?
Did You Know That if you want a big lathe you better get there at 10:00 AM. First come first serve.
OVWG Members may come to the Learning Center (LC) to use the equipment to work on their own projects. The Open Shop Monitors can provide coaching on a variety of basic and more advanced woodturning skills. Open Shop periods are not formal classes. Members attending an Open Shop should not expect to receive exclusive, 1 on 1, classroom type instruction from the LC Monitors.
OVWG Members may also arrange to meet an OVWG Mentor at an Open Shop in order to receive more personal coaching. The list of mentors is at the end of each news letter, and is also on the website in the About Us tab. By registering for this open shop, OVWG members agree to abide by all safety guidelines, which are posted in the LC and Monitor instruction. The LC Monitors has the authority to stop activities not believed to be consistent with safety.
Attendees must sign up on the website prior to arrival - Sign ups are on a first come first serve basis.
