I was a member for a year a couple of years pre-covid. I was at the demos at the Appalachian Festival last year and planned on rejoining but life has gotten in the way and it hasn’t happened. I still occasionally get emails from you when folks are selling stuff which is fine.

Anyway, I have a black walnut tree in my backyard which is going to be taken down. I have more firewood than I can use and this is way more turning wood than I can store so if anyone is interested in picking some up they are welcome to it. I would have to measure but I would say the base is over 24” in diameter. There may be two halfway decent 8 foot logs in the trunk but my tree guy will take whatever chunk he can load to play with on a saw mill he recently bought. He is going to cut the balance into firewood length unless anyone wants to specify longer pieces.

The yard is almost level and there is a concrete driveway within 10’ of the tree. It is no problem to back onto the lawn either so access is good providing it hasn’t rained in a day or two. I can give whatever help a 62 year old guy can muster but I currently do not have a large chainsaw to recut pieces. There is no great rush to remove the wood providing it doesn’t drag out all summer.
