Vote on By-Law Changes
Suggested By-Law Changes Announcement
About a week ago all OVWG members received an email with attachments giving two By-Law changes suggested by the Board.
The first would add text to the existing "Article XVIII Officers Article 4" to increase the size of the Board of Directors from 5 to 7 by adding the Chair of the Symposium Committee and the Immediate Past President.
The second would replace the existing "Article XXV Amendments" to provide complete transparency and details how proposals are submitted to the Board and how the Board responds.
Ballot voting on these two suggested changes is now open.
As with the just completed officer elections, voting will be remote using a built-in capability on the OVWG web site. Concern about possible post office delivery delays and any question about election integrity are eliminated this way.
Ballots may be completed and submitted through 22 May.
The ballot may be completed using a home or office computer, the Learning Center Computer, a public computer at a branch of the public library, or a smart phone. Only members may vote, and members cannot submit more than one ballot.
The ballot has been tested and seems to work as it should - if problems arise, the membership will be kept informed and if necessary the election extended beyond 22 May for a few days.
To access the ballot:
Log on to the OVWG web site
Under the “Members” tab on the home page, select “Surveys”
On the “Surveys” page select ”Suggested By-Law Changes April 2022”
Complete the ballot and “Save.”
Thanks for participating.
