Dennis Paullus Classes
The two classes, Acorn Box and Carving and Embellishing, are now on the calendar and open for registration. Dennis will be demonstrating at our March 19th monthly meeting and hold the above classes the following two day, Sunday and Monday. These are two individual classes so if you want to take both of them you will need to sign up for each one individually. The cost of the classes includes materials. Both classes require the use of some embellishing tools such as a micromotor or Dremel. For the Acorn Class the box will be turned from two contrasting pieces of wood and then the top (stem area) can be embellished to give it a more acorn like appearance. For the Carving and Embellishing class Dennis is providing turned pieces to work on. There will be little, if any, turning so the majority of the time will be spent on carving and embellishing. Students need to bring tools with them to carve on the surface of the piece. Dennis will have some burrs available for use but the majority of the tools need to be brought by the student. Types of carvers can be reciprocating, flexible shaft, micromotor, Dremel and hand carvers or any other type of equipment which can be used to carve on the piece. Capacity for the class is limited to 8 students so availability is on a first come first served basis. A waiting list will be created in case a space becomes available.
