OHIO VALLEY WOODTURNERS GUILD
As you have seen in recent announcements by David Wright (VP of Programming), the OVWG Board of Directors has been making plans to hold monthly meetings again starting in September. This will mean bringing in professional turners who will provide demonstrations during the meetings as well as (in some cases) offering one day hands-on classes and three day classes during the following days. In the past lodging, some meals, and transportation have been provided for such guests by OVWG members. Expenses for such treatment is then reimbursed by the Guild.
David has asked that I serve as Coordinator for Guest Hosting. I bring this to your attention since we are now in need of members to serve as hosts for professionals who will be coming during the 2021-22 turning year. If you have the space and are willing to serve as host for one of our turners please let me know at your earliest convenience. During past years I have hosted several guests including Alan Lacer, Graeme Priddle, Liam O'Neil and others. I have always found this to be an enjoyable experience and have developed lasting friendships with several. Service as a host will give you an opportunity to get to know the turners as a person and to gain special insight into how they became wood turners.
