  • Topic:  Students will turn a Saturn Bowl using supplied materials.  The bowl will have an offset ring which turns independent of the bowl.  As part of the process, students will make an ultra-thin parting tool to be used to separate the bowl from the wing.  Students should be comfortable turning both bowls and spindles and have good tool control.  If time allows, students may also attempt a second rotating ring or may attempt an additional variation on the Saturn bowl concept.  Click link to go to Jason's webpage  https://jtcturning.com/
